JCI Santa Clarita Bridge to Home Drive Grows!

The Santa Clarita Valley chapter of Junior Chamber International “The Jaycees” Bridge To Home Donation drive is growing with new businesses signing up to be donation centers.

In March new drop off centers have opened at Pocock Brewery, LBW Insurance, Gloria’s Uniforms and The Reape-Rickett Law Firm. The drive is already making a difference and Jaycee members have been busy collecting full donation boxes and delivering much needed goods to Bridge To Home.

Next, the Jaycee Chapter is looking to serve dinner at Bridge To Homes Shelter and is asking for assistance in receiving food donations as well as volunteers. To get involved please email Neil at neilfitzjci@gmail.com

This month, Jaycees are collecting,

  • Clothing: Blankets, Gloves, Flip Flops / Shower slippers (male and female), New boxer or boxer briefs for men (Size: Large and XL), New women underwear (all sizes)
  • Food: Soup (with pop tops), Cup O Noodles, Granola Bars, Sugar, Bottled Water
  • Goods: cups, plates, bowls, plastic utensils

The center also relies on generous donations of gift cards and are asking for Target and Walmart gift cards in particular to help cover expenses.

Donation sites secured to date include, Santa Clarita Magazine, SCVTV, Henry Rodriguez @ State Farm Insurance, Chrissy Gonzales @Farmers Insurance, Tribute Lounge Hairdressers, Gymnastic Unlimited, DWilfri Dance Studio, SCV Book Exchange, Pocock Brewery, LBW Insurance, Gloria’s Uniforms, The Reape-Rickett Law Firm, and Henry Mayo Health and Fitness Center. Chris Najarro, Director of Programs, Bridge To Home added, ““On a daily basis, Bridge to Home provides supportive services to nearly 100 individuals by providing shelter, showers, meals, case management and transportation services, among other services. It’s through the generous contribution of the community that we are able to provide so many of these vital services. Bridge to Home is so grateful for donation drives like these that provide meet our in-kind needs.””
